Grandpa's Garden...Step One...Tilling

This is Grandpa. THE COACH

This is Grandpa's Garden, THE TRACK

Grandpa said that the garden needed to be tilled, so he brought out the TILLER.
Michael was the first to begin the tilling relay.
He took his position behind the tiller, and marched it down the perimeter of the garden.  Michael is a mathematician and computer genius, you can tell by the precise way he turned the corners at the edge of the garden.
Here take a closer look, you can see him counting out his steps as he decides to turn the tiller, but keep his body straight forward until he had counted precisely to 35...
Rachel and Joseph were marching behind their dad as his "backup".  If he were to lose control of the tiller, Rachel would SAVE the tiller and continue tilling her dad's row, and Joseph would get his dad out of the way!  Michael always has a backup plan!

Michael passed the tiller to his oldest son Joseph, who had a little different style of tilling than his dad.  Joseph spread his legs a bit, bent his knees and pretended like he was on a jet ski; he gave it gas and dirt went flying.  There is just a slight grin on his face.  He knew he was there to work, but Joseph believes in "enjoying the ride" and putting the "pedal to the medal"..so watch out mom and dad when Joseph takes the
wheel!!!

Grandpa (the coach) decided to come give some tilling instruction to Spencer.  I think he shared a few tilling secrets.

Spencer got behind the tiller and it was almost like the tiller was pulling him instead of him pushing the tiller.

As you can see he is really getting the look of a true Tilling man.  Spencer has his own technique, he has one arm turned with wrist facing up.  I believe he learned that from weight lifting in school this year.  He is tilling and daydreaming about the airsoft war that will be taking place once Grandpa's garden is planted.
Stay tuned...we have much more coverage on the tilling relay.
